This is what i do

Its been two carless years living in NY so the husband and I decided that it was time to bring the car east and of course make a little road trip out of it. Our adventure started in Newport Beach, Ca where we visited Blakes parents. We needed a little sun and beach before heading into snow and cold…

Our first stop was St. George, Utah. I’m obsessed with the show Big Love so I was hoping to see some polygamists but no such luck. Just lots of snowy mountains.

My brother lives in Salt Lake City, Utah so we stopped there for a visit.

After SLC we made our way to Cheyenne, Wyoming. The roads were a mess with snow but it made for some beautiful photos. Along the way we tried to eat at yummy places and avoid fast food at all costs. We attempted Mexican food in Cheyenne. They tried……

Omaha, Nebraska was our next stop. The emo side of me was really excited as a ton of bands I like come from Omaha. Omaha steak, check!

The next leg was super long as we went from Nebraska through Iowa to Illinois to Indiana. The highlight was the drive thru Bob’s Big Boy.

The next and best stop was Xenia, Ohio. I’m a huge fan of the movie Gummo so I’ve always wanted to go to Xenia, Ohio which the movie was based on. The movie was shot in Nashville, TN but it was still exciting to see Xenia.

We hit some weather in West Virginia but out of all the places I would have to say it was the most beautiful.

Our adventure continued to Roanoke, Virginia where I was on a foodie mission.

Our last stop was in New Church, Virginia which is near Chincoteague.
