La Frieda
This was shot for Edible Manhattan and it was super special because I shot it with my amazing friend Carolyn Fong. It was a two part shoot as we shot portraits and the production of the meat. For the portraits I shot in the dry aged meat freezer and was literally surrounded by meat touching me on all sides. It was definitely one of the stranger places I’ve shot. The production was fascinating. When the time comes for production to begin everyone goes to their station and starts chopping, grinding, and boxing up meat. There were some real characters that put on a pretty good show for us.
La Frieda is a family business run by the some of the nicest and funniest guys I’ve met. At the end of the shoot Pat Jr was nice enough to send me home with a massive box full of the tastiest meat I’ve ever had.
I’ll be posting some outtakes in a later blog.

Almond
I did a shoot a little while ago and unfortunately the story never ran but I really liked the photos and had such a fun time shooting I thought I would post a few. I shot at Almond NYC and I was lucky enough to try all the food I shot. Wow it was good. The chef there is Jason Weiner. I also have a shot of him and his brother Anthony who is a Councilman in NYC.

Woodstock
I went up to Woodstock a few weeks ago with a friend. I couldn’t resist bringing the Hasselblad with all the fall colors. It was fun to shoot nature stuff since I never really do that. The last photo was for an assignment on thisisaphotoblog.

Blake
The other morning Blake was crawling over me to get out of bed. When I opened my eyes I saw the most beautiful light coming in. Half asleep I had Blake grab my camera and this is what I shot.

Far and Halloween
I’ve been slacking on posting photos. I have a bunch of film I need to process and have been mostly doing a lot of job prep but in the meantime I thought I would post some band shots from last week and Halloween. I was lucky enough to see Far two nights in a row. I think the last time I saw them play was about 1997 so it was quite exciting. I only shot a few frames as I was too busy screaming and dancing around but I thought this was a fun shot. The other photo is of Victoria who is the singer of Rats in the Walls (the husbands band) They did a Black Flag cover set for Halloween at Wreck Room in BK. Super fun!
